Accent walls - yes or no?

So lately I`ve been obsessing over accent walls for living rooms and I`m talking about dark, really intense accent walls. I feel like it gives a really fresh, youthful look (yeah, I know... black walls = fresh in my mind, I`m a weirdo) if it is pared with contrasting pieces of furniture.

One of the looks I am totally in loveee with its dark navy wall with a bright yellow chair and I feel that a navy wall lets you play A LOT with contrast and color when it comes to changing the vibe of the place; you can go from youthful to glam real quick.

My whole life I had green walls in my room, but now I have an affinity for white, pure white walls. Except that a complete white room makes me think of hospitals... and an accent wall changes that vibe completly. I do like a rich cool color or a neutral one, like grey. Personally, I wouldn`t opt for a warm colored wall, but i would definitely choose warm colored accesories or pieces of furniture. 

Would you paint one of your walls in a dark color? Or even the whole room?
